South Carolina Clinical Mental Health Counselor Association (SCCMHCA) is a chapter of our national organization, the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA). We are striving to be the leading South Carolina organization for clinical mental health counselors. SCCMHCA will be the go-to organization for LPCs and other mental health professionals for education, advocacy, leadership, and collaboration. Thank you for your interest in becoming or continuing your membership in the South Carolina Clinical Mental Health Counselors Association, a chapter of the American Mental Health Counselors Association. Our organization is committed to advancing the profession of mental health counselors and Licensed Professional Counselors in our state with the express goal of providing opportunities for our members to help make positive and lasting differences in the profession of clinical mental health counseling.
Providing greater access to high-quality mental health services requires dedication to the education, training, and licensure of clinical mental health professionals by offering quality workshops, access to timely research in the field, and supporting quality supervision. Our organization is dedicated to helping the clinical mental health counselors of our state have a voice in policy development that will improve our ability to provide quality mental health services to all people of South Carolina. Whether it is advocating for Medicare coverage for the counseling profession or supporting the principles of licensure portability between states, the South Carolina Clinical Mental Health Counselors Association is working to advocate for counselors.
Our identity as clinical mental health counselors must be firmly established as the most affordable, highest quality and easily accessible avenue for obtaining mental health services in South Carolina. Our Association wants to connect with like-minded professionals who have a passion for promoting the ethical provision of services to all who desire to benefit from mental health care. We want to work together to support your professional growth and development so that we can better meet the goals of every clinical mental health counselor which include quality, and safe care of our clients.
